about

An up-tempo rock number, ‘The Day My Beauty Died’ is a tongue-in-cheek play on aging, making light of the one thing we cannot control. It’s about honesty and acceptance, featuring Dan Schwartz filling in with multiple guitar voices throughout to add brightness and whimsy, so the song does not take itself too seriously.

lyrics

I wiggle and shake - I’m digging my grave
Right next to a tree - up the hill In the shade
I’m walking outside - there‘s nothing but rain
No magic hat - Gonna save the day
Chorus
Hard edges and a misspent life
Hard edges indeed
I’m picking up speed
There’s signs of life
At The scene of the crime
On the day my beauty died

I’m riding a wave - Could be a fake
No room for candles - On my cake
Up up and away - Who’s flying the plane
We’re going down - a ball of flames
Chorus
Bridge
Don’t seem fair - it ain’t right
I talk to Jesus - almost every night
Shut it down - let it go
As we fade to black and white
On the day my beauty
On the day my beauty
On the day my beauty died
On the day my beauty died
