about

Zosel is an avid poet, writing slant-rhyming verse almost every day that he collects in notebooks until the right melody hits him. ‘Rock in a Place’ is one of those poems, a true confessional; a lover begging for forgiveness, trying to be a better person, to be a more enlightened participant in a relationship that needs work.

lyrics

There's a rock in a place, that used to be my heart
I’ve found some grace, between my empty arms
for you

There's a tree out back, that used to block the Sun
It hides my scars, Seen by everyone
But you

That’s on me, Love takes time
It’s hard to love someone like me
Who won’t give you a reason
wait for me - love takes time
I'll be there tonight
I'll be there like the big oak tree outside

Got a heart of a child, Like a dog – in the wild
But the years have worn me down
The rain outside, falling on the floor
Beats in time - To a song
I’ve never sung before
To you

There's a rock…. in a place
that used ……..to be my heart
